For some reason, my N64 sat outside in a box all year a couple years ago. Like, I thought it was just gone, but it was sitting out there in snow and 100 degree summers and fucking rain and shit. And I bring it back inside, and it still works, I was like “wtf, will NOTHING kill you?” Then I started playing Paper Mario, because it was still in the game slot.
HAHAHAHAHA. I love this. Same happened with my SNES- During the winter one of the games I thought I lost, and that all hope was gone for finding it again :I looked all over in the house and never found it. Spring comes, and lo and behold it had somehow gotten dropped in the front yard and had been covered by the snow. When it melted finally it was revealed xD it still works to this day.
When I was a kid I thought it would be a good idea (IT WOULD BE FUNNY) to throw my SNES and all the games out of a fourth story apartment window.
My dad came home to find them all scattered on the ground. Nothing broke.
At one point the same SNES got a hole in it from my brother stomping on it.
Still worked.
Had to get 3 different genesis systems though. When the last one broke we gave up.
It’s not a SNES or an N64, but when I was a youngster I once watched in horror from the stop of the [non carpeted] stairs as my Gameboy Color slipped out of my hands and careened downward, heavily thumping against each of the steps it slammed into.
My game didn’t even freeze.
I’ve never had a Genesis break on me, but I’ve had two NES’s break.
My 360 also hasn’t had any problems yet, so there’s that too.
